So the last few days have been eventful. We all got an early night as we had an early start, we needed to be ready for 4.45 so we could shower and pack. It’s pretty much another full day of travelling but if I’m honest it’s not too bad! Thanks to Duncan they have been pretty joyful mishappenings. After our early start we went down for breakfast, they opened an hour early (Duncan again, he’s a good guy. We all need a Duncan) The was a massive amount of luxury breakfast food to choose from, no one left hungary. The plan was to drive to Dubai International Airport by coach (2 hours). We pretty much spent the trip playing mafia (Edit by Duncan – See they do know how to have fun without tapping a piece of technology, it is lovely just hearing “banter” and chatting rather than them all looking at a screen!)with the occasional look out of the window at a sea of luxury cars or the (Duncan I can’t spell the name of the tower(That Tall One) Edit Duncan – Burj Kalifa. We arrived at the airport and rushed through passport control and security. Not much more happened it was just more waiting for our flight (Edit Duncan – delayed by 2 hours de ju vue. Given we were only suppose to have a 1.45 transfer time we thought we might be spending a night in Addis but Ethopian Airlines held the plane for our arrival, something Etihad didn’t!). Waiting isn’t bad when it’s in good company. We are becoming seasoned travellers. However there were a few of us that we’re lucky enough to be upgraded to business for the second leg of the journey (14 of us) which was an excellent experience so in 2 days some of us have stayed in a Royal suite an others have been business class, can’t be bad. We finally landed in Uganda. We are all excited to actually start our adventure and it’s a relief after our “awful” false start. Currently enjoying good food (Edit Duncan – They are in for a shock tomorrow night as the food won’t be as good!).

I don’t know and can’t work out the time having travelled through so many different zones. First impressions of Uganda – It’s beautiful, hot everyone here is so friendly. It was a very odd feeling being one of the only white people here. Anyway really looking forward to our adventure around Uganda.

Mum – I’m not dead it’s all good, stop worrying Ryan!!!

Over to Duncan – 2 long days travelling but we are here and all is good, everyone is fine no lost luggage, yet! Tomorrow we will make our way to Hoima and see what waits for us there.

Your kids have been great, Just a few harsh words to a few that were late being ready this morning but that is good for them too! Anyway we are all good and will try and write again tomorrow.

PS Photo is the Tebb’s boys (still get them mixed up) in business class somehow Jonny was able to fall asleep while holding a glass of orange juice!!
