St John’s Organ

Powerful, Loud and Brilliant

The organ at St John’s is 126 years old, was last renovated in 1977 and is now in need of a major overhaul. The work will include:

  • all 1500 pipes to be reshaped and cleaned;

     

  • the overhauling and/or replacement of internal machinery (including the pedal trombone and the swell box engine);

     

  • the bellows, reservoirs, and trunking to be repaired as necessary;

     

  • the keyboards and pedalboard to be overhauled and adjusted correctly; and

     

  • all electromagnets to be checked and cleaned.
