Pastoral Care @ St John’s
As a church we long to see everyone know the fullness of God’s love in Jesus. One of the ways we aspire to demonstrate this is through our care for one another and our local community.
How can we help?
Our clergy, staff and pastoral teams are always willing to offer support through the challenges of life.
We have Pastoral Teams offering a friendly chat, prayer support, hospital visits, bereavement care and practical help, such as lifts, shopping, DIY, gardening, meals.
Whatever your need, please do get in touch with our Pastoral Care Coordinator: Sylvia Evans-Pritchard
Life Groups
For those who regularly attend St John’s, we would encourage you to join a Life Group.
Life groups offer a place of belonging, where we can support each other, meeting regularly to socialise and share in bible study, prayer and worship.
To join a Life Group, or to find out more information, please contact our Life Group Coordinator, Amy Bianchi.

Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Course

“ We need to get rid of the idea that there are those people who need help and others that help people! We are all broken in some ways and we can all learn from and help each other!”
The word Kintsugi is the name of the Japanese art form of mending broken pots with golden glue. Rather than using superglue so that the cracks are hidden, the gold makes a feature of the cracks and the item potentially becomes more beautiful … it certainly becomes more unique. This analogy can be used for us in our lives. By facing the cracks instead of trying to hide them we can discover treasure in our scars, find beauty in our brokenness and a hope for the future! In that way we can begin the journey to become the people God intended us to be.
A Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Group is a safe and supportive space:
- for people who feel or have felt overwhelmed.
- providing tools for self-management.
- in a facilitated peer mentoring style setting.
Issues covered include; disappointment, loss, anxiety, anger perfectionism, shame and resilience.
We hope to run the course again in the future. If you would like to know more, or be added to a list to be notified when the next course is running, please contact Sylvia.

Taste Life is a nine-session weekly group for sufferers of all types of eating disorder (including bulimia, anorexia, binge eating disorder and for those struggling with disordered eating) and those who care for them.
